Open Shelving in a Modern Kitchen
When going through a kitchen renovation, a budget-friendly way of opening up the space is by reducing or completely eliminating the upper cabinets. In place of these cabinets, you can mount shelving with hidden brackets at a fraction of the cost. Of course, without the help of cabinets doors to hide any untidiness, you'll want to keep frequently used items that have a simple design on display on these upper shelves and relegate the plastic sippy cups and promotional mugs behind closed doors in the lower cabinets.
